Build our resources, so we can build resources out of people.
URS Network exists so people of all walks of life who aspire to serve others — by producing goods and services — can collaborate, grow, and serve their local communities, on a surface built to serve them rather than sell them.
The problem we're answering
Most of what we call a “network” today is a marketplace for attention. The feed is tuned to keep you scrolling, advertisers pay for the space between your thoughts, and the record of who you are is quietly harvested and sold. Capability and need are everywhere, but the tools we've been handed are built to monetize us, not to connect us.
What we're building instead
A community command center: a shared, map-based environment where every member — from the individual, to the business, to the network, to whole coalitions of networks — makes plain what they can give and what they are seeking. Because the network is funded by its members rather than by advertisers, nothing on it is bought, boosted, sold, or surveilled. People can gather and organize in private. There is no algorithm to game and no one to spy on you.
Why members fund it
The moment a network sells attention, it must know you to sell you; the moment it must know you, it must watch you. We removed that incentive at the root by changing who pays: the members do. That single choice lets us hold four hard lines — no ads, no propaganda, no bots, no surveillance — and it turns every membership into a contribution toward building capacity for people everywhere.
The loop at the heart of it
